Link Value Calculator

Text Link Ads just released their Text Link Ads Calculator.

It uses Alexa, backlinks, theme, number of links to be sold, sitewide or single page and location of the link in the calculation.

Announcement and discussion at their Link Building Blog.

I certainly like it, do you?

Will you use it?

I played around with it and the only thing I dont like is that it uses alexa and theres no real way to tell on traffic.

For instance I entered one of my dead sites. Its a PR6 home equity blog that gets 1 unique visitors a day. It says that I can get $133 a month for it. Fat chance.

But its a nice toy just like google PR.

    Aaron,

Yeah, I agree. It can give some small guidelines for some sites but in the real world – an eye of an SEO is much better. :)

It looks good, otherwise kind of useless, the price of a link changes way too much to be determined by a tool, also you must look past PR and Alexa to determine value, and sold links doesn’t equal OLs 90% of the time.

But I do like the AJAX ;)

    Nice.

I played around with it to se what the maximum value might be. Both google.se and aftonbladet.se gave a maximum of $8.164 (or something like that). When I entered google.com the only estimate was:
“We can’t print that many zeros”.

    Funny :)

I have come to the conclusion that the Text Link Ads Calculator over inflates the values of links. It is great for their pocketbook, but is of little use to anyone else. In determining the value of a link, it is important to consider the value of the benefit that it will bring to a site and not just how much other people are willing to pay for it. We determine the value of a link in terms of the value of each visitor to the site or the value of each time a person sees the link on a page. I cover this in detail at http://churchwebsitedesign.timothyfish.net/Article.asp?ID=45. These numbers can be used to help determine how much to pay for ads, but it can also be used to determine the total value of link if the number of times the link will be shown is estimated.

It’s too bad that calculator is down at that website. I could use that information to sell links!!

That tool has been down for quite awhile. I haven’t been able to use it. I have text link ads on my site already though…

The text-link-ads calculator seems not available from many months.
I’m using this other free tool to have an idea of text link value and many other data: http://www.scriptidea.net/domain_appraisal
    hope this help!
