I agree with Jim. Spinning hype and working PR miracles is one thing, hiring a dude who openly says stuff like this is another:

‘He currently resides in Georgia and enjoys spamming the hell out of Google at any opportunity as well as learning and devising new search engine spam techniques. I think everyone is hooking up with “blackhats” as a form of hype or buzz to get people to link to their blogs. I am not sure how this goes over with clients, do “clients” visit SEO site blogs? I would say a low percent do. Rand Fishkin is seen as a “white hat” so maybe he wants to give himself a harder edge? That is pretty difficult when you wear yellow boots but it’s all good.
